Ratchet & Clank Into the Nexus is a short but quality R&C serving as conclusion to the Future trilogy. Dark and mysterious Nebula, more mature tone. Honest for fans but too brief to be memorable.

A darker epilogue to the Future saga, this entry deepens its palette. The art direction explores gothic, misty worlds, stormy skies and murky caverns haunted by Vendra Prog, far from the usual chipper colours. The duo moves through the imagery of an unsettling tale, where the customary glitz gives way to a hushed gravity.
In tune with that darker tone, the score turns more melancholic. Triumphant brass gives way to pensive strings and suspended motifs that accompany a story of grief and vengeance. Without giving up the action fanfares, the music lets an emotion unusual for the series surface, tinged with regret.

An action platformer from Insomniac, Ratchet & Clank Into the Nexus, released in Europe as Nexus, closes the duo's Future saga in a shorter but dense adventure, blending snappy shooting, platforming and wild gadgets. The creative arsenal, the humour and a few two dimensional gravity sequences keep all the series' charm. The reduced length and the lack of ambition compared to the big entries temper the whole. An excellent game for fans of colourful platform shooting, humour and the Ratchet & Clank saga on PS3.
