Rayman 3, the maddest of the original trilogy. Wild levels, very funny writing and a string of cartoon-grade power-ups. Top-tier art direction and still-sublime animation. Arguably a peak of 2000s 3D platforming.

Pop colours, elastic shapes and deliciously absurd settings: the universe overflows with a fully assumed cartoon whimsy. The motley environments and expressive animation carry the game's ever-present humour. This graphic exuberance, joyful and polished, keeps a brilliance that time has not dulled.

Collector interest

Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc PAL is the European edition of Ubisoft Montpellier's post-Michel Ancel game on GameCube. Collector value comes from the recognised quality of this entry (last mainline 3D Rayman before Origins) and from the franchise staying on long hiatus after this entry.

Is Rayman 3 - Hoodlum Havoc still worth playing in 2026?

A direct sequel to the Rayman 2 masterpiece, Hoodlum Havoc adopts a more humorous tone and a temporary powers system that renews the gameplay. The more linear structure divides opinion compared to the previous open adventure, but the production quality, the varied levels and the groovy soundtrack still work. Visually colourful and technically polished for the era, the title remains an excellent 3D platformer that still largely deserves the attention of genre fans today on the GameCube console at any time now.
