Red Faction sequel on Xbox with environmental destruction and military action. Solid gameplay but less distinctive atmosphere than the first entry. Good FPS without revolutionizing.
Red Faction II is a decent FPS whose Western versions abound, which strips it of stakes on its own. The Asian run, however, is an uncommon edition on a Xbox marginal in the region, sought by regional collectors more than by fans of the game. Its value flows solely from this restricted local circulation, with no content peculiarity.
Is Red Faction II still worth playing in 2026?
An FPS from Volition, Red Faction II extends the series' environment destruction formula through the Geo-Mod engine, which lets you blast through walls and scenery, in a snappy, explosive futuristic rebellion story. The frantic pace, the generous arsenal and the freedom offered by destruction stay enjoyable. The conventional story and a level design less open than promised cap the ambition. A solid title for fans of 2000s arcade FPS and environment destruction.
