Collector interest

Resistance 2, Insomniac's sequel that widens the FPS scale with titanic clashes and an ambitious cooperative multiplayer, a notable step of the first-party saga. Still common, its collector interest is modest; the Asian pressing remains harder to find. A solid piece for a shooter set of the generation, whose desirability rests on its place in an exclusive series rather than established value.

Better with friends

A first-person shooter with an inventive arsenal, whose multiplayer modes bet on crowded firefights and a strong collective sense. The competition rewards mastery of exotic weapons and team coordination, while a co-op strand reinforces camaraderie. Lacking split-screen for online and reliant on uncertain servers, it nonetheless keeps a strong identity and a snappy shooting joy.

Is Resistance 2 still worth playing in 2026?

Resistance 2 transposes the fight against the Chimera to the United States, in a sequel more ambitious and spectacular than its elder. The large-scale battles, pitting the player against gigantic creatures in clashes of impressive excess, leave a mark, while the online co-op, up to eight players at the time, offered a generous and original experience. The sustained pace and the varied arsenal keep the intensity up. The server shutdown clips its once-central multiplayer side. But the solo campaign, intense and well led, keeps its interest for the fan of action shooters and Insomniac's saga.
