Collector interest

The US edition of Rhapsody A Musical Adventure, Nippon Ichi's musical-comedy RPG where battles come with songs, in a light, fairy-tale tone. An early Western milestone for the studio behind Disgaea, it enjoys loyal demand, heightened by a measured physical distribution. Desirability blends its originality as a playable musical with its status as a historic gateway to the Nippon Ichi universe.

An underrated gem

A tactical RPG that dares to be a musical, punctuated with songs and carried by a heroine who collects living dolls. Very accessible, almost too easy, it left fans of hard-edged strategy puzzled. But its good-natured charm, its humor and its melodies make it a lovely adventure for anyone after a light, resolutely different SRPG.

Is Rhapsody - A Musical Adventure still worth playing in 2026?

A tactical RPG from Nippon Ichi, Rhapsody stands out for its musical comedy tone, where characters regularly stop to sing, and for its heroine able to command an army of puppets in battle. The gentleness of the story, the light humour and the pastel art direction offer a warm, accessible experience, far from the studio's usual harshness. The combat system stays simple and the difficulty low. A charming RPG to recommend for fans of tender stories and of accessible, original tactics.
