A racing game from Namco Bandai, Ridge Racer brings to the nomadic console the arcade reference of drifting, where you chain controlled slide turns at high speed on stylised circuits, in the series' pure tradition. The feel of sliding, the snappiness of the driving and the characteristic electro atmosphere appeal to fans. The launch content, judged meagre and relying too much on paid extensions, disappointed. For a fan of old school arcade racing or of the series' stylish drift, the title keeps a preserved sensation and snappiness, despite a stingy initial offering.
