Rise of Nightmares is a first-person Kinect survival horror that asks you to walk and turn with your body. The pitch is genuinely bold, but the Kinect system gets frustrating fast and the game's pacing clearly suffers as a result.

Collector interest

A Sega horror adventure entirely driven by the motion sensor, where one advances and strikes through gestures in a nightmarish mansion of deliberately gory tone. A rare example of an adult horror game for this family peripheral, the title intrigues by this contrast as much as by its hardware dependence. Its European and Asian edition stays uncommon, and its interest owes to this curiosity of out-of-norm gesture control.
