Rush 2, with Midway pushing extreme arcade racing even further. American circuits, colossal jumps, improbable shortcuts and secrets to flush out. The handling stays very forgiving, which is part of its party charm, and the generous content feeds long multiplayer evenings. A solid arcade vintage.

Midway European August 1998 pressing, which inherits the US code but removes the NBC sports voices due to European licensing constraints. That audio removal is offset by a multilingual manual denser than the US version, detailing the multi-city circuits with technical data. Scarcer than the US version on the European secondary market, it is the coveted cartridge for PAL Midway collectors completing the studio's arcade racing branch.

Is Rush 2 - Extreme Racing USA still worth playing in 2026?

Rush 2 - Extreme Racing USA pushes Midway's extreme arcade racer further. American tracks, gigantic jumps, improbable shortcuts and scattered secrets invite exploration as much as racing. The driving is loose, almost cartoonish, which gives the cart its festive charm. The generous content sustains long multiplayer sessions, and the secret hunts feel surprisingly rewarding. Without quite matching Beetle Adventure Racing for polish, it remains a solid arcade run today for fans of unbuttoned retro racing.
