This western localization highlights the new New York troupe, the most motley of the saga. Around Captain Shinjiro gathers an American-style revue where a cowgirl, a lawyer, a dancer and other strongly typed figures rub shoulders, each sporting a distinct costume and bearing. The art direction celebrates this diversity of characters, a patchwork of silhouettes that reflects the melting pot of the metropolis chosen as setting.
Rare for the series, this edition offers its songs and voices in English as well as Japanese, at the player's choice. For the first and only time, the revue's sung numbers, including the saga's famous opening anthem, ring out in the tongue of the city that hosts them.
Transplanted to the New York of the Roaring Twenties, the adventure follows a young officer leading a troupe of colourful warrior women. Between romance, music hall and a supernatural threat, the tale embraces a joyful exoticism and a sincere tenderness. This farewell to the series, warm and nostalgic, wins you over with its generous writing.

The formula marrying timed-choice visual novel and tactical robot battles reaches great maturity here, carried by a polished Western localisation. The measured pace and the reliance on story call for buy-in. An excellent entry point to the series for fans of interactive story and Japanese tactics.
