The screen reads like a geological cross-section: galleries dug into rock, chambers arranged as sanctuaries, luminous veins running through the stone according to the vitality of the place. The palette responds to the state of the underground network, turning from deep green to parched brown, so the health of the domain can be read from the colours alone.
The score draws on the ritual musics of East Asia: flutes, bells, widely spaced percussion and sustained pads that give the underground a sacred rather than threatening dimension. The themes darken as the balance of the place degrades, which makes the music a status indicator as much as an atmosphere.
The premise inverts the usual logic: the player does not descend into a cavern to empty it, but to make it live, and it is the intruders who come to take what it holds. The story takes the form of a chronicle of the place, with visitors who return, grow old, and whose intentions come to light across generations.
