Shin Onimusha Dawn of Dreams is the Japanese cut of Onimusha 4. Five heroes, a vivid mythical Japan and a more RPG-leaning format. Spectacular, generous and a real treat.

Cutting down hordes of demons across a fantastical Japan unfolds a sweeping action-adventure, rich in dungeons, puzzles and weapons to upgrade. The long main quest is doubled by secret areas, challenges and a tough end-game mode. That generosity, a series peak, earns the title a stubborn reputation as a polished action-adventure.

Is Shin Onimusha - Dawn of Dreams still worth playing in 2026?
The fourth major entry in Capcom's saga, Shin Onimusha - Dawn of Dreams closes the main arc with more ambitious action, a new hero Hideyasu and a partner system letting you switch between characters of distinct styles. The snappy sword combat, the haunted feudal Japan mood and the soul absorption stay the series' hallmark. The repetition and a sometimes uneven production weigh on it. A good action game for fans of katana combat and of the Onimusha saga.
