Sega action-RPG in the Shining universe. Accessible gameplay, charming and colorful adventure. Less complex than Shining Force but enjoyable for franchise newcomers. Decent visuals for Saturn. A good game without being exceptional.

Description
Action RPG in which Mars, young hero of the Shining series, explores a mysterious dungeon to save his village. Published by Sega, released in Japan in 1996. Top-down exploration, real-time combat against varied creatures, weapons and armor to collect, dungeon bosses and colorful 2D visuals. Western release of the action RPG from Sega's Shining series.
A Sega action RPG, Shining Wisdom sends young hero Mars to explore dungeons and villages in top-down view to save his kingdom, in an action spin-off of the Shining series, close to a Zelda. The exploration, the sword combat and the puzzles keep a definite charm, carried by the saga's warm art direction. The lack of magic for the hero and a measured pace disappointed some fans at release. An estimable pick for fans of retro action RPG and the Shining universe.
