Is Shinobi still worth playing in 2026?
A return of Sega's venerable ninja saga, this Shinobi bets on side scrolling 2D action of fearsome demand, where every jump, parry and shuriken throw comes at a steep price. The sharp level design and the score system reward mastery, in line with the arcade classics. The presentation and the use of 3D stay decent without leaving a mark. For a fan of old school action platforming or someone nostalgic for Hotsuma, the title keeps a stiff challenge and a real sense of rhythm.
