The Simpsons on Game Gear follow the Acclaim mold inherited from NES and SNES: uneven platform action, short levels, decent character art. The handheld version simplifies controls further and readability stays tight, especially in the urban segments. For fans only, out of fondness for the yellow family.

European pressing of an Acclaim licence built first for the US market. On Game Gear the Simpsons name carried more shelf appeal than gameplay merit, and the narrower PAL run leaves complete copies less common here than their North American twin. Desirability rests on early-90s yellow-family nostalgia and on its place as the handheld leg of a multi-format series, rather than on any genuine scarcity.
