Slalom is a Nintendo and Rare NES ski game with its skier descending alpine tracks avoiding obstacles and gates. The representation offers pseudo 3D behind skier view with turns and jumps in a founding arcade winter sport formula. Honest for NES sport fans, curiosity of the 8 bit Rare catalog.

Collector interest

Slalom holds a historic place as the first game Rare developed for the NES, the seed of the partnership that later produced Battletoads and Donkey Kong Country. This PAL version came from a smaller European run than the American one. Collector interest crystallizes around that status as Rare's very first production rather than the pseudo-3D skiing itself, dated yet technically bold for 1987.
