Hideo Kojima's cyberpunk visual novel, Snatcher reached PS1 in Japan only, a decade before its worldwide retro rediscovery. The PlayStation build is fully Japanese and never officially translated, making it a cult Japan-only release prized for the Kojima name and its neo-noir mood. Loose copies stay reachable, but sealed NTSC-J with the spine card climbs sharply.

Is Snatcher still worth playing in 2026?

A cult cyberpunk adventure from Hideo Kojima carried by Konami, Snatcher unrolls a gripping investigation inspired by Blade Runner, where a detective hunts androids infiltrated among humans. The cinematic narration, the mature writing and the neo-noir mood stay of rare power for the genre. The text command interface and the contemplative pace call for patience. A landmark of video game storytelling to recommend for fans of cyberpunk adventure and Kojima signed narratives.
