Rolling enemies into ever-bigger snowballs, then hurling them for a devastating strike: this simple, gleeful mechanic hooks at once. With two players, co-op turns into shared joy, between mutual aid and friendly chaos. Colourful, snappy and full of charm, an arcade platformer that recalls the best of the genre.
European pressing of Toaplan's arcade action, a rare PAL run of an NES port released late in 1993 as the console declined in Europe. The reduced end-of-cycle distribution makes it one of the hardest PAL editions to find complete. Desirability rests on this genuine production scarcity combined with the reputation of a faithful Nick and Tom port, become a coveted piece of European NES collections.
Is Snow Brothers still worth playing in 2026?
An adaptation of Toaplan's arcade classic, Snow Bros. moves Nick and Tom through single screen platform layouts where you must coat enemies in snowballs until they become a ball, then roll them to clear them in a chain reaction. The bright concept, perfect in two player co-op, and the snappy pace recall Bubble Bobble with an identity of its own. The readability and immediate fun have not aged a day. For a retro arcade platforming fan or a player after convivial co-op, the title keeps an intact charm and addiction.
