First Wii-exclusive Sonic, Sonic auto-runs through Arabian Nights levels with Wiimote tilting to steer. Simple but addictive concept, short arcade-mode stages, Arabian atmosphere. Over sixty missions, many unlockables, multi mini-games. Distinctive art direction, rock soundtrack. Not the best Sonic but original on Wii, immediate pick-up. Good solo blast, fun party multi.

Is Sonic and the Secret Rings still worth playing in 2026?

An action platformer from Sonic Team, Sonic and the Secret Rings, released in Japan as Sonic to Himitsu no Ring, plunges the hedgehog into the world of the Arabian Nights, in an on rails adventure played by holding the Wii Remote horizontally to tilt and steer Sonic at full speed. The original motion concept and the colourful Eastern mood stand out. The tilt control, disorienting, and the skill based progression system divide. A game for Sonic fans curious about an atypical motion experience on Wii.
