Sonic with Super Mario Galaxy-inspired gameplay but its own identity. Original cylindrical levels, colorful atmosphere. Uneven in execution: some brilliant levels, others frustrating. Best Sonic on WiiU but far from perfect.

The colourful art direction, the inventive worlds and a few level design ideas win through. The ambiguous handling, between speed and precise platforming, and an uneven difficulty curve divide fans.
