A Funcom kart racer known as Speed Punks, Speed Freaks pits a band of zany kids on colourful tracks packed with power-ups and shortcuts, in a snappy, accessible arcade formula. The sense of speed, the drift boost system and the multiplayer make it a likeable, underrated kart game on the console. The decent but unremarkable production places it behind the genre's heavyweights. A festive racer to recommend for fans of arcade karting and frenzied multiplayer matches.
