Spider-Man 3 adds more districts and characters but loses focus. Murkier combat, repetitive missions and a bigger but less fun world. A minor entry in the Treyarch lineage.

Description
A Treyarch and Activision action-adventure released in 2007, an official adaptation of the third Spider-Man film. Peter Parker faces Sandman, the New Goblin and his dark alter-ego Venom across an open-world New York. Web-swinging mechanics preserved from Spider-Man 2, but more static open-world and repetitive missions. A good adaptation but falling short of the Spider-Man 2 masterpiece.

Is Spider-Man 3 still worth playing in 2026?

A Treyarch and Activision adaptation of the third film, Spider-Man 3 reprises the New York sandbox formula while adding the black symbiote suit, which changes the powers and the tone of the adventure. The freedom of web travel stays pleasant and the iconic villains show up, but the ambition runs into bugs, a repetitive structure and a disappointing production. A mixed superhero game to recommend mainly for forgiving Spider-Man fans curious about the symbiote arc.
