Spider-Man climbs walls and swings webs in a decent MS platformer. The wall-crawler controls well and powers are used thoughtfully. Pleasant for fans without being exceptional.

Collector interest

Published by Sega itself in 1991, this Spider-Man platformer circulates in its PAL European packaging. Loose carts stay affordable, but sealed copies climb sharply, reflecting a print run absorbed by a Master System base still healthy across early-90s Europe. The pull is the Marvel licence and Sega's in-house polish rather than any genuine scarcity of the cartridge, which remains common on the second-hand market.

Is Spider-Man still worth playing in 2026?

An action adventure game from Sega, Spider-Man has the web slinger roam New York to foil his emblematic enemies' plans, alternating web swinging, fights and urban exploration. The web handling, the management of its reserves and the comics mood give a likeable character to an honest adventure, sometimes rigid in its control. The fidelity to the licence appeals to fans. For a retro action adventure fan, a Spider-Man fan or someone curious about superhero adaptations on 8 bit, the title keeps a decent interest and a faithful mood.
