This remake gives a cult 3D platformer fresh polish without losing its goofy charm. The levels stay inventive, the bosses are a hoot, and the writing lands. A few stiff camera moments echo the original, but the appeal endures.

Roaming Bikini Bottom to collect spatulas and shiny bits revives the simple joy of old-school 3D platforming. The worlds brim with gags, the lines land, and every character carries its own daft, tender humor. Replay value lives in that urge to grab everything, in a sunny mood that hasn't aged a day.

Spongebob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated (Nintendo Switch) price, value & rarity
A faithful tribute to the sponge's cult platformer, SpongeBob: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated alternates jumping and boss fights where each robot demands its own strategy. From the mechanical giant to the brain-bot, patterns are read and countered through hops, dodges and well-placed hits, all wrapped in cartoon staging that nails the show's spirit.
Better with friends
Horde mode turns Bikini Bottom into a goofy arena where two players soak up waves of robotic foes together. Survival comes down to positioning and quick callouts tossed back and forth, never tipping into seriousness: it all stays light and silly, true to the cartoon. The laughs spring from blown dodges and last-second rescues. The campaign is solo, but this handful of arenas is quick to spin up as a pair.
