Direct sequel to Star Fox Adventures that returns to Arwing shooting while adding ground sections. Spectacular staging, brisk storyline and snappy local multiplayer. Not the clarity of Lylat Wars but a solid entry for fans of the squad.

Is Star Fox - Assault still worth playing in 2026?

Released in 2005, this Namco developed entry extends Nintendo's space saga by alternating Arwing flight, Landmaster tank driving and on foot phases. The aerial sequences, faithful to the series spirit, remain the most successful, with snappy staging and an endearing crew. The ground sections divide more and the solo mode stays short. Local multiplayer adds real extra fun. Fans of rail shooting and of Fox McCloud find a spectacular adventure still enjoyable to fire up today.
