An N64 port of Blizzard's sacrosanct StarCraft, a feat in itself. Three races, Terran, Zerg and Protoss campaigns and even the Brood War campaign. Micro-management suffers under the pad and the visuals are shrunk, but the cult strategic depth is fully preserved. A technically impressive transfer.

StarCraft 64 in its Australian release, one of the absolute grails of the N64 library. The Australian PAL printing ran in tiny numbers at the very end of the console's life, pushing complete and sealed copies to extreme levels, among the priciest in the entire catalogue. A remarkable technical port of an RTS landmark, its value rests not only on territorial scarcity but on the prestige of the Blizzard license.

Is StarCraft 64 still worth playing in 2026?

A port of Blizzard's legendary real time strategy, StarCraft 64 brings to console the clash of the three races, Terrans, Zerg and Protoss, with its dense campaign and renowned tactical balance. The conversion adds exclusive missions, but the controller interface inevitably stays less precise than keyboard and mouse, which weighs down the management. The strategic depth of the model remains intact. For a fan of retro RTS or someone curious about StarCraft on console, the title keeps a remarkable richness, despite the play comfort.
