The western NES version of TwinBee. Colorful and kawaii Konami shoot'em up. Flying bells vs. giant vegetables. Unique and charming atmosphere. Overlooked but truly delightful.

Collector interest

US version of Konami's TwinBee, retitled Stinger for the NES market. The very high sealed value reflects the extreme scarcity of factory-sealed copies, the result of limited distribution for an early Konami horizontal shooter whose cute-em-up mechanics read poorly to Western audiences at the time. Its kinship with the Japan-only Famicom TwinBee line adds a further layer of interest for Konami devotees.

Is Stinger still worth playing in 2026?

A horizontal shooter from Konami, Stinger, a TwinBee series spin off, has you pilot the emblematic ship across colourful levels, collecting bells that change colour to grant varied powers, in a cheerful cute em up spirit. The two player co-op mode, the snappy pace and the pop art direction give a definite charm to an accessible, inventive action. The difficulty stays measured. For a fan of colourful retro shooting, a TwinBee fan or a collector, the title keeps an intact freshness and convivial fun.
