Strider the futuristic ninja in a convincing MS adaptation. Fast, acrobatic, visually impressive for the console. The arcade isn't fully there but it's very good nonetheless.

Is Strider still worth playing in 2026?

A port of Capcom's action game, Strider stars the future ninja Hiryu, crossing enemy fortresses with an energy sword and spectacular acrobatics. The snappy pace, the verticality of the settings and the gliding handling of the hero give a stylish, demanding action, striking for its time. The 8 bit conversion loses finesse and colours against the cabinet, but keeps the bulk of the flair. For a retro action fan, a Strider fan or someone curious about Capcom adaptations on 8 bit, the title keeps a stylish character and a substantial action pleasure.
