The second Japanese companion moves to the world of Suikoden II: portraits from the Toran Republic and the Alliance, maps of the city states, illustrated timelines. The plates make the most of a format that allows large artwork, where the game's own character card had to fit into a few dozen pixels.
Miki Higashino's themes accompany the reading in long loops, leaning towards mourning airs and slow marches rather than fanfares. With no battle to cut them short, the melodies unfold all the way through and reveal details of orchestration that the pace of the game used to hide.
Complete: box, manual and disc/cart very clean. Lightly handled.
