Super Robot Taisen F is the first part of a PS1 adaptation of the original SRT with numerous robots from legendary animated series. A deep tactical RPG but difficult for newcomers to access. For mecha and Japanese tactical JRPG fans wanting to discover the SRT franchise on PS1.

Is Super Robot Taisen F still worth playing in 2026?

A major two part Banpresto entry, Super Robot Taisen F and its Kanketsu-hen form a vast grid based turn tactical epic, gathering mechs from a host of cult anime including the Evangelion and Gundam series. The scale of the cast, the attack animations and the depth of squadron management define this duology. The measured pace, the grinding and the language barrier limit access. A great tactical saga to recommend for fans of animation robots and Japanese strategy.
