The NES port of the famous Atari arcade keeps the top-down view and three-car sprint races. Handling remains decent, but simplified graphics and the lack of the three-pad cabinet drain much of the experience.

Port of Atari's top-down arcade racer. Published by Tengen, released in 1989 in Japan. Twisty circuits, pickups, arcade handling and multitap support depending on the build. Japanese Famicom edition.

Collector interest

Port of the Atari arcade cabinet released by Tengen in Japan in 1989, when Tengen was producing unlicensed Famicom carts outside Nintendo's lockout. That dissident third-party context, paired with a limited Japanese run for a pure arcade title, props up its value. The collecting angle is chiefly the Tengen Japanese cartridge itself, a relic of the Tengen versus Nintendo standoff.
