Collector interest

A stealth-action game praised for its tension and brisk gunplay, become a credible alternative to the genre's heavyweights on the console. Still fairly widespread in the West, its interest lies in this status as a reference of muscular espionage rather than scarcity. A prime piece for fans of late-1990s stealth action, accessible on the market.

Is Syphon Filter still worth playing in 2026?

Released in 1999 on PS1, Eidetic's project offers a tactical third person infiltration with a seriousness few games matched at the time. The body armour, head and limb damage management, the laser sight system and the staging of hostage rescues install a real identity. The urban art direction and the mission rhythm still hold. The camera and the 3D modelling have aged. Recommended today for old school stealth devotees, for Sony Bend fans curious about the studio's beginnings and for PS1 collectors fond of narrative action from the console's final years on Sony's first home hardware.
