A Namco RPG built on the Tales engine, Tales of Destiny extends the saga with its real time side view combat, the Linear Motion Battle System, which brings battles close to an action game. The endearing cast, the story of friendship and betrayal and the colourful sprites keep a timeless charm, despite an imperfect original Western translation. The grinding and a sometimes slow pace call for investment. A good JRPG for fans of dynamic combat and the Tales series.
