Konami draws large turtles, each recognisable by the colour of its bandana and its weapon, animated with an unusual number of frames for the genre. The scenery, a burning district, a ship, a forest, sewers, scrolls with multiple planes and animated details right into the most distant backgrounds.
The themes take up the energy of the studio's arcade soundtracks: synthetic guitar riffs, active bass, choruses built to stick in the head. Each stage gets its own piece, and the fights against the major opponents switch to tenser writing, with minor chords and a raised tempo.

Four turtles, streets crawling with Foot Clan, and a flood of crunching hits: that's the recipe for an arcade-bred brawler. In two-player co-op the chemistry turns electric, every combo lands sweetly and the bosses beg for a beating. You return for the nervy rhythm, for the plain joy of clearing the screen together. The punch still feels glorious today.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The Hyperstone Heist NTSC is the American edition of the Konami game, a beat'em up adapted from the TMNT cartoon. Its collector value comes from the game's position as the only Konami TMNT appearance on Megadrive and from the fact that the cartridge remains one of the most emblematic Konami beat'em up productions on 16-bit Sega.

A beat'em up where two fighting turtles barrel through levels with shell-cracking blows, in co-op as effective as it is funny. Mutual aid shapes the adventure: taking turns against enemy waves and sharing pickups makes progress much smoother two-player. Colorful and faithful to its license, it chains fights with gusto and makes shared sessions a nostalgic pleasure to restart.

Shorter than Turtles in Time SNES, the title nonetheless keeps undeniable quality. For anyone fond of Ninja Turtles or classic beat'em ups, a warm recommendation still valid truly here indeed.
