Collector interest

The original Japanese version of the first Tekken, the first pressing of the founder of a major versus saga, rarer than the Western editions. This native edition appeals to those wanting the exact starting point of the series, in its original language and packaging. Its precedence and local run support a value above the more common PAL and American versions.

Better with friends

A pioneer of 3D fighting where the wealth of limb-based moves and reading strings lay the groundwork for a technical rivalry. The competition rewards precision and timing, each character offering a distinctive style that invites experimentation against the opponent. Accessible yet deep, it chains nervy duels and makes you want to master the whole roster across evenings with friends.

Is Tekken still worth playing in 2026?

Released in 1995 on PS1 around the European launch, Namco's project brings the Tekken arcade board onto Sony's console and installs the nervous 3D versus that would dominate the late nineties. The one button per limb input, the strike readability and the gallery of charismatic fighters found the Tekken school. The primitive 3D modelling and the non animated backgrounds have aged without surprise. Recommended today for 3D versus devotees, for Namco fans curious about the label's origin on Sony's console and for PS1 collectors fond of fighting game archaeology on the first home console hardware globally.
