A Bullfrog management sim in which you run a hospital of zany illnesses with biting humor, a genre classic brought to console. Still common, its interest lies in this witty management formula rather than scarcity, the Japanese version being a bit less widespread. A piece valued by fans of offbeat management games, accessible on the market.

Is Theme Hospital still worth playing in 2026?

Released in 1997 on PS1, Bullfrog's port of the 1997 PC classic offers a hospital management simulation full of humour. Building corridors, hiring staff and managing invented illnesses install a very readable game loop. The absurd announcements over the intercom and the cartoon art direction keep their charm. The pad handling requires adjustment and overall comfort stays below the PC version. Recommended today for management devotees and for Bullfrog fans curious about the classic on Sony's first home console hardware globally before the studio's later decline shaped its broader image.
