Is Thunder Force V - Perfect System still worth playing in 2026?

The fifth entry in Technosoft's legendary shooter series, Thunder Force V brings the formula into 3D while keeping the snappiness of horizontal scrolling, with its arsenal of switchable weapons, its titanic bosses and its high octane rock soundtrack. The sense of speed, the readability of the action and the scoring challenge make it a top tier shmup. The early 3D has aged slightly, without denting the mastery of the level design. A great shooter for fans of demanding horizontal scrolling and the Thunder Force saga.
