On the same Taito compilation, the Ninja Hayate disc restores the other 1985 laserdisc cartoon, preserved far more rarely than Time Gal since it never officially reached the West under this title. Ninja Hayate strings together reflex-driven action scenes via quick-time inputs, in animation steeped in jidaigeki flavor. For collectors, this disc often justifies buying the set, being one of the only home conversions of this forgotten animated arcade classic.
