Tactical military FPS with squad management. Dry realism, decent AI, serious tone. The GameCube port is solid but lags behind the more complete PC and Xbox versions.

Is Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2 still worth playing in 2026?

Released in 2004, this second Ubisoft entry evolves military tactics towards a more spectacular and more readable approach, with strengthened staging and simplified command. The squad spirit remains, yet action takes up more room and the pace quickens over the first game. The sound direction and the field atmosphere stay immersive. The loss of part of the original demand may disappoint purists, yet fans of accessible tactical shooting and of the franchise find a more mainstream balance that still convinces.
