Collector interest

A colorful Whoopee Camp platform-adventure in which a feral boy chases mischievous pigs through a world of interlocking objectives, released in modest runs across all regions. Become a hidden classic and one of the console's most expensive platformers, it is hunted by fans for its lively craft as much as for its scarcity. Its desirability pairs recognized quality with a narrow supply.

An underrated gem

An unclassifiable adventure-platformer led by a wild, pink-haired kid chasing down evil pigs, it grafts a surprisingly rich quest system onto colorful 2.5D levels. Its baffling structure and limited release left it overlooked. Its zany world and freedom of progression will delight fans of adventurous platforming.

Is Tombi! still worth playing in 2026?

Released in 1997 on PS1 in Japan and in 1998 as Tomba! or Tombi! in the West, Whoopee Camp's project signed by Tokuro Fujiwara remains one of the most singular platformers of the late nineties. Tomba, a wild kid chasing his stolen bracelet, traverses a non linear world articulated through parallel quests and transformations. The two dimensional art over three dimensional backdrops still surprises, and the music keeps its humour. A few mechanics show their age. Recommended today for authorial platformer devotees and for PS1 collectors curious about Tokuro Fujiwara's voice after Capcom.
