A slightly cursed Ubisoft 3D platformer, long delayed. The doughy humour and varied levels have charm, but the pacing lacks lift and the handling isn't as fluid as Rayman 2's. Pleasant for the curious, but plainly overshadowed by the genre's heavyweights.

Is Tonic Trouble still worth playing in 2026?

A 3D platformer from Ubi Soft, Tonic Trouble has you play Ed, a clumsy galactic janitor sent to Earth after dropping a harmful potion. The humorous tone, the wacky world and the exploration and platforming gameplay recall the Rayman 2 spirit, designed by the same team. The less accomplished handling and the fickle camera cap the fun. For a fan of retro 3D platforming or someone curious about Ubisoft productions of the era, the title keeps an eccentric charm and a definite interest.
