Tony Hawk's Underground 2 pushes the madness even further. European tour, embraced gags and Bam Margera. Wilder than deep, but hugely fun for parties.

Description
A Neversoft and Activision sports game released in 2004, the direct THUG 2 sequel of the Tony Hawk's franchise. The player skates through an international World Tour (Barcelona, Australia, Berlin, Boston, Tampa) with Bam Margera and Tony Hawk in a global competition. Wacky scripted story mode, Focus mechanics for deep combos and powerful Create-A-Park. Worthy THUG sequel, wackier tone.

More unhinged still, the playlist strings together punk, metal and hip-hop in a joyful chaos perfectly in tune with the game's tone. The nervy tracks support the wildest tricks, fuelling the adventure's prankish humour. This infectious musical fury remains a treat for thrill-seekers.

Collector interest

The Western release of Tony Hawk's Underground 2, which pushes the formula toward mayhem and humor with its revisited classic mode and a deliberately over-the-top tone, the peak of the series' offbeat vein. Still common, its interest lies in this festive identity and the nostalgia of skate gaming's golden age rather than scarcity. A likeable piece for an extreme-sports set of the PS2 era.

Better with friends

A zany sequel to story-driven skateboarding, pushing the madness with wacky challenges and ever-more-creative multiplayer modes. The competition blends virtuoso combos and offbeat humor, where landing an absurd trick in the right spot beats any score. Accessible and irreverent, it turns every session into a playground where you dare each other with silly stunts and the flubs become the best moments.

Is Tony Hawk's Underground 2 still worth playing in 2026?

Released in 2004 on PS2, Neversoft's project pushes the Underground formula toward a deliberately over the top and comic tone, around a world tour of pranks and challenges led by two rival teams. The addition of the focus system, which lets you recover a fall mid combo, smooths the scoring further. The zany story mode, the full editor and the variety of terrains sustain the generosity of the series. The juvenile tone and a certain excess divide purists. An unleashed and rich entry, recommended for fans of arcade skating and of uninhibited humour who enjoy spectacle over realism.
