The road is handled in false perspective with a care that hides the trick: rippling asphalt, verges scrolling in bands, a horizon that tilts through the corners. Each leg of the world tour gets a dominant hue, ochre desert, European rain, American night, and the upgradable cars display their improvements directly on the bodywork.
Still signed by Barry Leitch, the sequel enriches its supercharged synth-rock with new, even catchier and more energetic themes. Each circuit pulses with a galvanising groove that charges the sense of speed. This sonic generosity, faithful to the series' spirit, confirms the composer's talent for the racing game.
