A SNES port of Midway's arcade run-and-gun, Total Carnage aims at fans of frantic multidirectional shooting rather than the mainstream. On the PAL parc the European edition stands out for a more measured run: a complete cardboard-box copy, manual included, takes some patience to secure clean. Its collecting appeal rests on that neat arcade-port status and the relative scarcity of the European version, more than on a mainstream fame it never quite had.
