Trapt offers an original Japanese survival horror built around traps. A trap-laying heroine, lured enemies and space management. Niche but memorable for dark tactical fans.

Description
A Tecmo and Tri-Ace action game released in 2005, an atypical Tecmo-signed action title. Princess Allura, accused of murder and banished from her kingdom, returns to Wijean Castle to take revenge by killing nobles using machiavellian traps (pendulum blades, wall spears, retractable floors). Innovative trap-based combat mechanics, dark gothic atmosphere, vengeance narrative. Particularly original action niche.

Is Trapt still worth playing in 2026?

A strategic action game from Tecmo, Trapt has you play an exiled princess who lures her pursuers into chained traps, combining trapdoors, projectiles and scenery elements to eliminate enemies far more powerful than her. The original concept of ambush warfare, the satisfaction of trap combos and the gothic mood appeal to fans of singular mechanics. The repetition of rooms and a modest production weigh a little. A good atypical action game for fans of trap strategy and the Deception universe.
