Turok 3 looks for a new wind with two protagonists of different styles. The adventure is tighter and clearer than 2, but the rush of awe fades and the platform shows its end-of-generation limits. Still a robust FPS, worth recommending to fans wanting to round off the saga.

PAL Europe edition of Turok 3, Acclaim's final entry in the N64 saga, September 2000. Released right at the console's end, this solid FPS had a reduced European run that makes it one of the less common N64 Turoks complete. Lasting demand comes from series fans closing out the trilogy; clean complete PAL copies dry up noticeably faster than the earlier entries, which justifies its higher standing.

Is Turok 3 - Shadow of Oblivion still worth playing in 2026?

A third entry in the Turok saga from Acclaim, Shadow of Oblivion follows Danielle and Joseph Fireseed, two characters with distinct abilities, in a more narrative, more directed FPS than its elders. The dark story, the variety of weapons and the brisk pace modernise the formula, in an advanced production for the console's end of life. The increased linearity divides. For a fan of retro FPS or of the Turok series, the title keeps a gripping mood and a solid conclusion to the trilogy on N64.
