A racer from Clockwork Games and Acclaim, Vanishing Point stands out for its sense of speed and its visual distortion effects that heighten the rush. On the menu, plenty of vehicles to unlock, varied challenges and a generous arcade mode. The driving feel stays a touch stiff and the presentation has aged, but the pure-speed mood still works in short sessions. A somewhat forgotten arcade racer, pleasant to rediscover for fans of edgy Dreamcast-era racing.
