Vehicular combat against a psychedelic seventies backdrop, Vigilante 8 - 2nd Battle, the Japanese version of 2nd Offense, sets armed machines against each other in open arenas full of destructibles. The smooth handling, varied arsenal and offbeat tone make it one of the genre's best on the console. The angular 3D has aged, but the arena fun and local multiplayer stay solid. A safe bet for lovers of old-school car combat and series fans.
