Collector interest

A real-time strategy game brought to console, noted for its branching campaign and deep tech research, later become cult after going open-source. Still common, its interest lies in this RTS-on-gamepad ambition and its open-source fate rather than scarcity. An affordable niche piece for fans of late-1990s strategy.

Is Warzone 2100 still worth playing in 2026?

Released in 1999 on PS1, Pumpkin Studios' project adapts PC real time strategy to the pad with serious depth. The modular unit construction, from chassis, propulsion and weapons researched in a tech tree, keeps a real singularity. The post apocalyptic art direction and the close up staging install a grave atmosphere. The pad handling requires adjustment. Recommended today for real time strategy devotees, for Pumpkin Studios fans and for PS1 collectors fond of ambitious ports never found on other consoles on Sony's first home console hardware globally.
