Collector interest

The third Wipeout, which further pares down The Designers Republic art direction and brings anti-gravity racing to a peak of elegant minimalism, sometimes stylized Wip3out or offered as a Special Edition. Still fairly widespread in the West, its interest lies in this accomplished aesthetic rather than scarcity. A prime piece for fans of design and fast end-of-generation racing.

Better with friends

A peak of anti-gravity racing, with sleek art direction and surgically precise piloting, sublime in split-screen duel. The competition rewards mastery of airborne lines and clever weapon use, in a rivalry as stylish as it is demanding. Elegant and deep, it turns each face-off into a high-speed ballet where every tenth is dearly earned.

Is Wipeout 3 still worth playing in 2026?

Released in 1999 on PS1, Psygnosis Liverpool's project offers the third Wipeout in a livery styled to the extreme by The Designers Republic. The handling gains finesse, the antigravity becomes more predictable and the track gallery plays the minimalist graphic card. The electronica soundtrack with The Chemical Brothers, Sasha and Underworld keeps its aura. The Special Edition version adds new layouts and increased replay value. Strongly recommended today for any futuristic arcade devotee and for Psygnosis fans curious about a stylistic peak on Sony's first home console hardware globally.
