MachineGames sign a sumptuous uchronic fresco in which BJ Blazkowicz wakes in 1960 to a victorious Nazi Europe. The writing of Wolfenstein The New Order hits hard, the combat is snappy, the companions endearing, and this is probably the best possible reinvention of the saga on 360 without any hesitation.

The care of the design and the heavy atmosphere give a strong identity. This art direction, dark and inspired, masterfully serves a war science fiction.
Signed by Mick Gordon, the music makes a heavy, nervy industrial metal roar, punctuated by dystopian reinterpretations of an alternate history where the Nazis triumphed. The relentless riffs galvanise the resistance with an electric rage. This brutal, inventive sonic identity elevates the oppressive atmosphere of the shooter.
In an alternate history where the Nazi regime won the war and enslaved the world, a soldier wakes from twenty years in a coma to join the resistance. Beneath the shooting gallery, the tale dares real gravity, blending historical horror, intimate tragedy and a thirst for freedom. Its surprisingly careful writing rehabilitated a saga thought soulless.

An FPS from MachineGames, Wolfenstein The New Order imagines an alternate history where the Nazis won the war, following B.J. Blazkowicz in a desperate resistance carried by a surprisingly mature, embodied narrative. The old fashioned snappy shooting, the blend of stealth and frontal action and the polished writing make it a masterful return of the series. The embraced linearity divides some. An excellent FPS for fans of old fashioned snappy shooting and strong dystopian storytelling.
